Chesley Area Maps

Base Maps are created by students to gain an understanding of ArcMap and some basic cartographic techniques.  These maps are  completed in different grades and often have a different focus.  Students are introduced to basic concepts and then given freedom to create their own maps of the town.  These maps are often used at different points in a course, especially when students explore spatial patterns with a GPS and are asked to display it visually on a map.  See the community projects gallery for further examples.  Data for these maps has been obtained from the Ontario Base Map and Ontario Road Network data ( as well as the County of Bruce GIS Department.
