Chesley Area Maps

Base Maps are created by students to gain an understanding of ArcMap and some basic cartographic techniques.  These maps are  completed in different grades and often have a different focus.  Students are introduced to basic concepts and then given freedom to create their own maps of the town.  These maps are often used at different points in a course, especially when students explore spatial patterns with a GPS and are asked to display it visually on a map.  See the community projects gallery for further examples.  Data for these maps has been obtained from the Ontario Base Map and Ontario Road Network data (geographynetwork.ca) as well as the County of Bruce GIS Department.
